How CHARMERLife was born

CHARMERLife is born:

Anyone who has ever seen a sunrise knows they have been given the gift of another day, some are lucky enough to see that sunrise over the water….wether it is over a pond, river, lake, or on the ocean, watching that huge orange ball rise over the horizon to fill your day with warmth is magical and lets you know life is special…..
I remember as a young boy being able to enjoy these peaceful moments of a sunrise over the water and have always been grateful for another day….Being on or near the water has a calming, soothing effect that is hard to describe and must be experienced…. One of the things I am most grateful for in my life is being able to have shared these moments with our young children aboard our boat CHARMER. We soon referred to these times as being “Charmed”. The kids realized they were “Charmed” and they were excited to share the experiences with friends, family and pups who joined us aboard CHARMER.

It wasn’t until I was older that I really appreciated how Blessed My life is – how Charmed my life is – and most importantly, I saw clearly that not everyone was this fortunate. While most are grateful for and appreciate these sunrise moments some could see the same sunrise and know they were given another day but only see it as another day they were struggling, sad or empty and alone. I then realized that sometimes all someone needs is a little nudge, a little support, a small gesture to let them know they are not alone, they needed to be Charmed…..It didn’t have to be a big gesture, sometimes it’s just holding a door, sharing a cheerful “good morning” smile, or buying someone a cup of coffee. Sometimes that’s all it takes to let someone know that they are not alone and there are others, strangers, that see them and feel their struggle….

As we raised our kids we tried to instill this in them by reminding them how fortunate they are and passing it on – eventually it turned into a family tradition: “pick a winner Dad..” the kids would say and so we would look around the restaurant, coffee shop, deli, wherever and the kids would pick someone who looked like they just needed something to brighten their day….and we would anonymously pay the “winners” tab…but it had to be anonymous, that was the key. Sometimes the kids would shovel a neighbors driveway before anyone was awake or stop and help someone who just looked lost….The reactions we got were priceless and the lessons our kids learned were invaluable….

Eventually our friends and family heard these stories and wanted to take part in Charming someone….the magic spread and soon we were hearing the stories and would hear from someone totally removed from our group about how they got “Charmed” at this place or that place….WOW! We never knew how many lives this could touch, simply by word of mouth. Then one of our young, wise kids mentioned this thing called the internet and something called social media that could get the word out and reach countless people….

And so, CharmerLife.com was born. A place where you can reach out and share your Charmer experience, wether you have charmed someone or were charmed….please remember, you get the most joy out of the act of Charming someone not taking credit for it, so anonymity is the key – share the moments not the names and details….

Welcome aboard the CharmerLife! Have you been Charmed?
